TElling the stories that need to be told

Recipes on Paper is a place you can come when
you need a grandparent’s hug.

A place to visit when you need a healthy dose of nostalgia (and possibly a kick up the pants) and a place where you can proudly lay on the couch in a food coma, and no one will judge you (thanks Nan). It is a place of no judgement, a place of inclusivity and ultimately, a time capsule of love. Whether your grandmother taught you how to knit and play briscola, whether your grandfather taught you how to bank roll a row of $2 coins, or maybe your grandparents are watching down over you, here we celebrate all things food, all things wise and all things golden - our Golden Oldies, of course.

Aptly named Recipes on Paper, this title pays homage to the recipes that have been shared and passed down through generations. Family recipes were never emailed or shared on food blogs. They were written on scraps of baking paper and handed across cluttered dining tables in small, pokey kitchens. If you think you are making new-age recipes that have only been created in recent times, think again. Because every recipe you make today stems from generations of Goldies where a whole lot of love and a whole lot of wisdom were put into every meal.

Here you will find the best of the best (of the best!) recipes. Tested for decades by our beloved Grandparents.

Nostalgia is the most powerful ingredient.
